One Can, filled with bills or change will…
- Support the ongoing expenses of Dr. Bob’s Hospice
- Help Answer the Questions
1. What exactly is a Hospice?
2. Why do we need a Hospice in Hamilton?
3. How much does care cost a patient?
4. What services are available to patients and their families?
How to go about it
The Can Campaign Period is from November 15, 2007 to February 2, 2008.
Cans, and information sheets, can be obtained by calling the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice (905-664-4652) or click here to download in PDF format and fax it to Tracey at 905-387-7822.
- Fill out the form
- Take the Can
- Fill it up with bills and change
- Return the Can to the Hospice (or call for a pick-up)
You can have a can at home, in the office, at your place of worship, at your book club, at your service organization…just about anywhere
You can take a Can home for yourself, and ask friends or relatives to take one as well.
Make it a FAMILY project. Family members can put money in the Can at their leisure each day.
Think about what a great way this is to teach children
how to support their community in a concrete way! We are helping develop the next generation of philanthropists!
Other ideas
Instead of dinner guests bringing a hostess gift, ask them to bring their change for the Can (gives a great opportunity to talk about the hospice)
Pass the Can at the start of a meeting (any meeting will do)
Suggest that instead of Secret Santa at the office this year, everyone puts Coins in the Can
Ask your vet or doctor to have a Can in their office.
Or how about the boss supplying coffee for 10 weeks, and the employees Feed the Can instead of the coffee fund?
Just Think…
500 cans @ $100.00 = $50,000.00 to support hospice palliative care in our community and build an ever increasing Dr. Bob’s Family of caring donors.
Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice has been providing community based and community funded hospice care since 1994. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families facing a life-threatening illness or grief.
We are a volunteer-based, not-for-profit agency founded to serve the people of the City of Hamilton at a time when they are most vulnerable – when facing end-of-life.
A Tax Receipt is available if an individual or a family has donated ALL the funds in a Can. A Tax Receipt is not available for multiple-donor Cans or if the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice is unable to determine the value attributable to a donor.
